Talan's swimming lessons

I finally remembered to bring the camera to swim lessons today. Talan loves to go to swim lessons he ask all the time if he has swimming today. His class is made up of 5 boys(including him) and 1 girl. The boys have a blast playing in the water and they all get along really well. The parents get a good laugh watching Talan and are always talking to him and making comments to me about him. He sure is a cutie and has a very funny personality! Today half way through class he calls me over and tells me to get out the camera.

Another Boy!!!

Today we found out we are adding another boy to our family! The shock of having 3 boys has not worn off for me yet. Charles and the boys are just happy as can be about it, of course! I just thought that this go around I was getting my little girl...guess I was wrong. Now, the boys are wanting to know what his name is going to be. Talan made up a word and thinks that his name should be Deanono.

First Day of School

Kaden started school on Wednesday of this week! He is in all day kindergarten and was placed in a combo class with kindergartners and 1st graders. He liked his first day of school he said his favorite part was recess. He does not like however having to go every day instead of 3 days a week. On Thursday I had a doctor's appointment and was able to schedule my ultrasound to find out what we are having for Sept. 24! I am really excited to find out! I am a little nerves because I was 15 1/2 weeks at my appointment and my doctor said I was measuring 19 weeks! I had an ultrasound for my due date done at 8 weeks and now everyone thinks it would be so funny if I were having twins and they missed the twin in the first ultrasound! Well, I doubt they can miss a baby in an ultrasound but it is crazy to think it happens! Clay and Angie have been in town the past week and we have enjoyed hang-out with them! Mom and Dad come to town on Sunday for labor day and am really excited to see them!

Talan hand update

Today is the 3rd day since we saw the burn spacialist and have been using the ointment. I can tell a big difference in the look of it. Almost all the burned skin with the tire mixed in is gone and it looks like it is healing nicely. Talan plays during the day as if nothing has happened and never complains about it. When it comes evening time he gets so excited for bath time because he gets to unwrap it and get it wet. As soon as the bandage is off he favors the hand and doesn't want it wet. He does so good though knowing that it has to be cleaned and looked at. In true Talan fashion his favorite thing is to get the bandage on. At the doctors office we got a ton of different things that we do to get it bandaged. Tonight Talan was telling me that he was going to do it himself and he did help with the wrapping. As much as this kid has been hurt lately its a dang good thing he enjoys the cleaning and bandaging part of it!

Talan's 3rd Birthday

WOW! Today was an action packed day from Molly having her baby this morning at 4 am to on the phone all day to take care of Talan's burn plus his birthday. Well, to start out my day I received a text message telling me baby Zane has arrived! Yay for Molly and Ty! Then, all morning was spent on the phone between my pediatrician and the burn specialist trying to get an appointment and authorization with our insurance. I was giving up on the idea of getting an appointment that day when finally they called to see if we could come in right away. At the burn center they cleaned it really good and taught me how to take care of it. Finally, they put the burn medication on(the whole reason we went to the burn center was to get this prescription ointment) and taped up Talan's hand. As soon as the doctor finished wrapping his hand he got all excited and started jumping around the room. All Talan really wanted was a good band-aid and he finally got it. For Talan's birthday we went to dinner at Red Robin then came home and opened presents and played! At the end of my day I am grateful for a good pediatrician that saw the importance of getting Talan seen today and making it happen.

Accident prone child

Yesterday was a very normal day for us we were on our way to the beach on our bikes. As you can guess by now with Talan you never know what is going to happen. Kaden and him decided to open the screen on the bike trailer and Talan grabbed my bike tire on my bike. At the time he did it it didn't look to bad so we cleaned it up and put a band-aid on it. Talan was really favoring it and saying it hurt. Today, when the band-aid came off we decided he better have the doctor take a look at it. Well, she said it is a second degree burn and because it is on his wrist he needs to go to a burn specialist. Tomorrow I will be hearing from that office and hopefully seeing them tomorrow. I was talking to my mom and saying every time I have a doctors appointment lately he gets hurt and I spend my day in doctor's offices. Well, I also had a 12 week check for this pregnancy and all is good there, got to hear the heart beat!

Beach Day Again

I know my blog has to be getting boring by now since every other post is a beach day post. Well, I guess that is part of the fun of living in Huntington Beach! Today we went to Newport Beach to see some old friends of mine that were visiting Newport. Sean called to see if we wanted to meet at the beach so we had lots of friends to entertain us. The boys like usual had a blast playing in the sand and water.

Crazy Beach Day

Yesterday Meg and I were so excited to go to the beach and spend the day relaxing in the sun, until we got there and saw the waves! The tide was the highest I have ever seen at Huntington and the rip current was insane! We told the kids no boggy boarding until the water looked better. After being there for an hour and a half we decide to leave and just go to the pool. At one o'clock we left the beach. We took the kids to Meg's pool to play which they loved. That afternoon we found out that a boggy boarder was killed at Newport Beach. After 2 years of living here I can say the ocean is amazing but if your going to be in it you have to learn how powerful it is.

ER Visit

Well, today we got to go check out Huntington Beach's Emergency Room! Talan was bouncing around the living room not actually jumping on furniture even and hit his head. At first I was mad because I kept telling him to settle down then when I looked at his head I knew it was time to call dad and get some stitches. Talan has had stitched before and he was not to excited about going to the doctor, he said "please mom just put a band-aid on it"! Well, he did not get his way with that! While I was waiting for Charles I took some before pictures. When we got to the hospital Talan was so shy. It wasn't all that busy in the ER and there were nursing students there that just loved the boys. They would come in to talk to them and check on us while we waited. Finally, after the doctor played around with the cut he decided that it would be best to put a couple stitches in it. It wasn't deep enough to glue and Charles didn't even think it needed stitches. Talan did an awesome job, he laid on the bed and only cried a little bit when they put the shot in it to numb it. He got three stitches and a band-aid that he had to have to make it all better. Kaden watched him get his stitches and said "I was freaked out when they gave him the shot in his head". Talan sure is a handful but man he is one tough cookie!!

Park Yesturday

Well I guess since I am on here I have some cute pictures from the park yesterday. I took the boys for a picnic yesterday to Huntington Central park. It is only a couple miles from our house yet we have never been there before. We packed a lunch and went exploring. It is a nice size park with a lot of amenities we found 3 different play grounds and a lake and did a lot of walking for the boys! It was a good way to spend an afternoon.

Start of Summer

Today was the first day that I can officially call summer now! We went to the beach! It turned out to be a beautiful day here! I met Meg and her kids Anna and Bryson, along with one of her friends and her two kids too. I rode my bike with the boys in the trailer and everything including boogie boards all packed in it! Kaden was so excited to be able to get in the water and boogie board. Sean meet us at the beach also then spent the evening hanging out here with me and the boys and had dinner with us! It was a great day! A good day to be living in southern California and enjoying the area!

Bike Ride!

I just got back from our biking adventure that started from our house in HB and we rode to Newport Beach Pier and back. Charles got a bike from his parents for his birthday yesterday and we were excited to go try out the bikes. Kaden started out on his bike but about a mile into the ride he was done so we locked his bike up and kept going. Talan rode in the trailer most of the time but he did bring his scooter along and rode that for a little while in the beginning. Ever since I got my bike I have wanted to ride to Newport Pier which is about 12 miles round trip. Today was the day it was beautiful out and we all loved it. Along the way we stopped at a park for the boys, had lunch at the pier and sat on the beach for a little while. It was an amazing family day and a great work out my legs are going to be hurting tomorrow!

Kaden's Preschool Graduation

On Wednesday June 3, Kaden had a Preschool graduation ceremony. Well, we were late and missed the whole speech from his teachers and the ceremony. What do you did, good thing it's only preschool! The boys did have a good time though, it was a potluck and they had crafts out and a face painter. Talan was really shy and did not want to get involved with anything but he loved the crafts. Kaden got a snake painted on his face. He says now he is ready for kindergarten and learning to read.

Lake Arrowhead

On Friday May 29 we went to Lake Arrowhead! The weather was not as nice as last year but it was still fun! It was a very crazy weekend! Friday night Jeannie and I went to pick up grandpa from LAX and lost him for a hour and a half! Yes, Lost a 88 year old man! So at midnight we drove the 2 hours to the lake. On Monday the day before we left the boat broke down on us while Charles, Jeannie, Kaden, Talan and I were out on the lake. It was just starting to get windy and cold too! We were lucky a little fishing boat saved us from floating into shore but we only had one rope to tie up with so we held to boat from beating against the dock for almost an hour! Finally the patrol man came and towed us back to our dock! Kaden was so scarred to even been on the boat during it all but Talan had a can of chips and was happy as can be! The boys both got to catch a fish! Over all a great couple days!

Soccer!

I talked to a friend of mine and she was updating her blog so I thought I should to! Thanks Laura! Well on Tuesday Kaden had soccer and they played there first game! He scored a goal also! He had so much fun playing. When we were leaving he was asking what other sport he wants to play and was saying he is ready to go and play football now! I didn't even know he knew anything about football. It has been a busy week it feels like with school and sports. The weather is finally starting to feel like summer so the boys are wanting to get a pool for the yard! I think it is still to cold but what do I know.

Zoo

It has been a busy week for us! Kaden has Preschool again Monday, Wednesday and Friday which is so nice. Charles went to Canada this week for work. The weather right now is just beautiful! Yesterday, we spent a lot of time at the park and went swimming at Anna and Bryson's house. This morning we went to Santa Anna Zoo! The boys had fun it was good to do something a little different. The Zoo it's self is rather small but we had fun. Now it is time to relax and recover from our busy week!
