Talan hand update

Today is the 3rd day since we saw the burn spacialist and have been using the ointment. I can tell a big difference in the look of it. Almost all the burned skin with the tire mixed in is gone and it looks like it is healing nicely. Talan plays during the day as if nothing has happened and never complains about it. When it comes evening time he gets so excited for bath time because he gets to unwrap it and get it wet. As soon as the bandage is off he favors the hand and doesn't want it wet. He does so good though knowing that it has to be cleaned and looked at. In true Talan fashion his favorite thing is to get the bandage on. At the doctors office we got a ton of different things that we do to get it bandaged. Tonight Talan was telling me that he was going to do it himself and he did help with the wrapping. As much as this kid has been hurt lately its a dang good thing he enjoys the cleaning and bandaging part of it!

Talan's 3rd Birthday

WOW! Today was an action packed day from Molly having her baby this morning at 4 am to on the phone all day to take care of Talan's burn plus his birthday. Well, to start out my day I received a text message telling me baby Zane has arrived! Yay for Molly and Ty! Then, all morning was spent on the phone between my pediatrician and the burn specialist trying to get an appointment and authorization with our insurance. I was giving up on the idea of getting an appointment that day when finally they called to see if we could come in right away. At the burn center they cleaned it really good and taught me how to take care of it. Finally, they put the burn medication on(the whole reason we went to the burn center was to get this prescription ointment) and taped up Talan's hand. As soon as the doctor finished wrapping his hand he got all excited and started jumping around the room. All Talan really wanted was a good band-aid and he finally got it. For Talan's birthday we went to dinner at Red Robin then came home and opened presents and played! At the end of my day I am grateful for a good pediatrician that saw the importance of getting Talan seen today and making it happen.

Accident prone child

Yesterday was a very normal day for us we were on our way to the beach on our bikes. As you can guess by now with Talan you never know what is going to happen. Kaden and him decided to open the screen on the bike trailer and Talan grabbed my bike tire on my bike. At the time he did it it didn't look to bad so we cleaned it up and put a band-aid on it. Talan was really favoring it and saying it hurt. Today, when the band-aid came off we decided he better have the doctor take a look at it. Well, she said it is a second degree burn and because it is on his wrist he needs to go to a burn specialist. Tomorrow I will be hearing from that office and hopefully seeing them tomorrow. I was talking to my mom and saying every time I have a doctors appointment lately he gets hurt and I spend my day in doctor's offices. Well, I also had a 12 week check for this pregnancy and all is good there, got to hear the heart beat!
